Having a developer identify when and where a CMS is appropriate can be a challenge! Having a student identify the benefits of a CMS, appreciate the reusability of a theme or the extensibility that modular functionality provides is another beast altogether!

Currently I am in the process of putting together a 12 week module for 4th year Web Development students in Cork Institute of Technology that will use Drupal as the main CMS. These students will be coming from a MEAN background, with limited exposure to LAMP and will have had no development experience in PHP!

So, for this session I’m envisaging an overview of what I have in mind for the module’s delivery - accompanied by continual dialogue with the audience! Both expert Drupal users (to identify what a student needs to know) and novice Drupal users (to identify a student would like to know) and everyone in between to discuss and share their learning experience.
